Open Letter to Nancy Pelosi

By Bryan • on February 12, 2008

Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) said twice that  Iraq “is a failure,” adding that President Bush’s troop surge has “not produced the desired effect.”
“The purpose of the surge was to create a secure time for the government of Iraq to make the political change to bring reconciliation to Iraq,”
Pelosi said on CNN’s “Late Edition.” “They have not done that.”  After her denigration of the troops the speaker added: “The troops have succeeded, God bless them.”The following is an open letter to Speaker Pelosi:

Speaker Pelosi,

After hearing your remarks and those echoed by your fellow democrats one can’t help but wonder who’s side you are one.  Our soldiers in Iraq put their lives on the line everyday for you while you continue to denigrate and use them to accomplish your political agenda.

These soldiers have a special courage that most of us will never come to possess. I wonder if you have enough courage to visit them in their foxhole and tell them you think they have failed. If you truly believe they have failed go to the military hospitals and tell those who have lost limbs that they have lost those limbs in vain. Please visit the families who have lost mothers, fathers, sons and daughters and tell them that their loved ones sacrificed their lives for a lost cause. The truth is that our soldiers are fighting for US. Unlike you and those who share your warped views our soldiers love our country. They fight in Iraq so that you can continue to have the right to stand up and call them failures.

Whether you agree with going to war with Iraq or not, we are there. We have a mission to accomplish and we must prevail. Every terrorist or insurgent killed in Iraq is one less threat to America. It’s unnerving that you and some of your colleagues do not understand the world in which we live today.

The truth is you are consumed with yourself and your agenda. You are consumed with the power that comes with your position. You do not care about America nor those who fight to defend Her. You not only undermine out troops, but you also insult our intelligence. At the end of you remarks you say, “The troops have succeeded, God bless them.” This is the kind of double talk that has become common place with you and your comrades. If the “troops have succeeded” then the Iraq war has or is succeeding. If  you’re going to lie to us about the war in Iraq don’t hide behind a “I support the troops” line after you just finished denigrating them and calling them failures. You; Speaker Pelosi, are everything that is wrong with America and politicians.

This is a simple case of Support of Agenda over Common Sense. She is Dogmatic about her Agenda as she is trying to make a point for all the people in her political party. There are alot of religious circles that do this same exact thing by being so dogmatic about their beliefs that they end up losing sight of the Main Pupose or Mission (if you will) I read a great quote the other day…

To be conscious that you are ignorant is a great step to knowledge. - Benjamin Disraeli, 1804-1881, British Politician

Saying that we have failed is ignorant.

The one other thing I have learned even more of in the military is paitence. I am proud to serve that this woman can express her opinion without fear in our Country. I strongly disagree as most of our country does Civilian and Military…But the Beauty is That Bryan you can post this Great blog and make a point to show the world that there are people with common sense and a love for their country and Nacy P. can show the world that she just wants to prove a point and speak her mind. While I agree with you,I`ll end with this….

The love of liberty is the love of others; the love of power is the love of ourselves. – William Hazlitt, 1778-1830, English Essayist

The statements made about our “loss” in my opinion were all for the love of power(as stated above)….The best part of the quote above is the about the Love of Liberty being the love of others because everyday i get closer to the operational Airforce and Closer tot he day that I depoly…I have a love of Liberty and a true love for others…Even Nancy Pelosi. Great post Sire.
