What I got from her interview is Sarah really likes oil energy. That's what she knows and that's what she'll push for, whether it be drilling wells for less than a years supply of oil or going to war with Russia over Georgian energy supplies.
Bush had a similar view as Palin. An overly simple, singular view that refused to delve more deeply than oil solutions into our energy crises and led to attack those who mess with our oil power and not go after real threats. We are more creative than oil dependence, and drilling in ANWR isn't going to supply more than half a years supply of oil, drilling in the gulf coast may be 3/4 of a year. When you see the predicted barrels to be found keep in mind that the US uses well over 20 billion barrels of oil a year.
But she has not addressed these problems with her view and her singular view on energy leads to very dangerous governmental actions.
Palin: "I want you to not lose sight of the fact that energy is a foundation of national security. It’s that important. It’s that significant."
"His mission, if it is to control energy supplies, also, coming from and through Russia, that’s a dangerous position for our world to be in, if we were to allow that to happen." - Wait is it dangerous for the US to control their own energy supplies?
"We cannot second guess the steps that Israel has to take to defend itself." - I guess those Israeli-Palestine peace talks weren't working anyways.
"we must not blink, Charlie, in making those tough decisions of where we go and even who we target." - Palin said as governor "I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq", but now we're supposed to trust her unblinking judgment about starting wars?

Who does Charlie Gibson think he is? When I watched the interview on TV I was struck by his posture and tone of voice, acting like he was the principal and she an errant schoolgirl. Reading the transcript is a little more palatable, but his choice of words and persistence in trying to get her to say something she doesn't mean. The truth is, in this country there ARE no specific qualifications to be President, other than you have to be at least 36 and born in the USA. And we're not electing her PRESIDENT, she's running for Vice President. She's STILL more qualified than Obama. And why are the libs so convinced that McCain is going to die sometime very soon?

Also, Gibson's use of the word "hubris." The definition of hubris is "excessive pride or self-confidence; arrogance." It's pretty clear to ME who has the hubris in this election, and it is NOT the Republican ticket.

And Charlie, lose the Dan Rather sweater. You look stupid in it.

I like Gibson's question, Do you believe in the Bush doctrine? and she replied, In what respect? He was unclear what he meant, and she called him on it.

She is a disgrace. She is not ready to lead. McCain will probably die in office and we will be stuck with this unprepared novice.
