If you have visited this site at all it is obvious to you that I was not for Obama. In truth, as a conservative I didn’t even prefer McCain. Once it became clear to me that Obama was far and away liberal I decided that my vote needed to go to McCain as he would keep the country at least in the middle. Not to mention the next president will be selecting several supreme court justices in the next few years.
Now that Obama has won the election some may wonder how a conservative like myself will go about these next four years?
Let me begin by saying that it is a great day for America. Many struggles have been fought for civil rights and no one can deny that the election of the first African-American to the presidency is a historic moment. Though I rejoice with the country in that moral victory, I must admit a feeling of unease. I still do not stand in agreement with president-elect Obama on many issues. I will not take the time to go through the issues as they are well documented throughout this website. Time will tell what direction Barack Obama wants to take this Country. The unease comes from the belief that it will be to the left.
As I enter these next four years with Barack Obama as my president I will not vilify him as his party vilified Bush. That’s not to say that I won’t sound off when and if I disagree with a policy of his. I will respect the office that he holds even if he did not earn my vote. I will pray for him and ask God to guide him and give him wisdom as he leads the greatest country on Earth.
Life goes on. I’ll get up in the morning, go to work and then come home to my loving family. I will continue to trust God and follow his leading in my life. I will continue to uphold conservative values and urge other conservatives to continue on.There will be some big issues for us next year, the fairness doctrine, abortion, and health care to name a few. Don’t lose heart.
MonkeyCrash will take a much needed break for the remainder of the week. Mrs. MonkeyCrash would like her husband back. If you are a frequent visitor please check back here Monday Novermber 10th as we get back in the swing of things. In the meantime, does anyone need some McCain yard signs?

I think as conservatives we need to get more involved in any and all future elections. I agree that you respect the position of the president (unlike they have done the past 8 years), but you don’t have to like the idiot and you don’t have to agree or even follow along with him and his choices. We as Americans need to stand up and fight for what our founders did. This country WAS founded on the Bible. It WAS founded on the belief that everyone has the right to pursue happiness and it WAS founded on freedoms that the mother country was not allowing. As a person who has “only” voted throughout my adult life, I pledge now to become more actively involved in civic issues, political issues and Christian issues. We can no longer be the silent majority. We need to stand up for our Constitution and our beliefs. I have lost all respect for main stream media – that is the first one I am going to battle. I truly believe if they had done their job this wouldn’t have happened. I am going to start by writing to the majority of them (I can’t write to FOX because I don’t get them, unfortunately). I am going to hold them accountable for their actions and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Quit watching them, completely. Stick to local coverage only. Encourage your family and friends to do the same. Boycott the MSM and send them into bankruptcy. Call or write their sponsors and tell them the same thing. Pull their sponsorship or you will pull your $$$. Then sign up at your local political office and get involved in whatever they have coming up. Don’t be silent any longer. This country is worth fighting for, even if our new president doesn’t think it is. God Bless you and your family, go and take a break.

Today begins the end of the “Age of Obama.”
We must not relent in doing whatever we can to stand for freedom.
And we must make every effort, IMO, to drive the advocacy media out of business.
And, oh by the way, make every effort to unseat every possible congressional Dmeocrat possible.
There’s no time for a pity-party.
