Frank Rich Sure Has A Man Crush

// February 16th, 2009 // No Comments » // POLITICAL ARENA

After reading an Op-Ed piece in the New York Times by Frank Rich entitled: “They Sure Showed That Obama” I sat at my desk marveling at how moronic and just plain ignorant Frank Rich is.

Rich claims that Obama “outwitted” Republicans and those in opposition to the so-called stimulus bill. They were “played for fools again”, gloats Rich. It seems more likely to me that Frank Rich is still on bended knee worshiping the great Obama.

The idea that Obama somehow “outwitted” the oppositions is idiotic. Perhaps Rich has forgotten that the Democrats control the House and the Senate. With or without the help of a few RINO’s they can get any bill passed that they please.  Obama did not play anyone for a fool. The only fools are the ones who voted for this bill.

Rich takes the the opposition to task for claiming that the Obama Administration has “lost control”. NEWS FLASH TO FRANK RICH: THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION HAS LOST CONTROL. In fact, they are off to a terrible start. His administration is made up of tax cheats and lobbyists. Where’s the change? If this was a Republican in the White House Frank Rich along with the media would be blasting the administration.

Rich claims that the GOP has hurt themselves by voting no on this PORK BILL.  Mr. Rich, the GOP has never been more fired up. The base of the party has been longing for a return to Reagan-ism and conservative values. The American people were not given that choice during the ’08 Election, but they will be given the choice in 2012.

The Democrats own this bill. They own the next four years. This is their economy. They will be held accountable for their votes and the results thereof.

Mr. Rich, you should be asking why Congress passed a $787 billion dollar bill without even reading it first. Instead of pitching a tent for Obama and his supposed victory, why not question Obama and his party about the lack of transparency surrounding this bill. Perhaps Mr. Rich, you could ask Reid why the bill includes funding for his long sought after railroad. Why not ask Pelosi how saving her mouse will help the economy?

I suppose you’d rather play it safe and stroke Obama’s ego. For you to make the passing of the stimulus bill out to be some kind of brilliant win by Obama only makes it clear that you have a man crush on Obama.

THIS IS A MUST READ.

Ruin Your Health With the Obama Stimulus Plan: Betsy McCaughey

Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) — Republican Senators are questioning whether President Barack Obama’s stimulus bill contains the right mix of tax breaks and cash infusions to jump-start the economy.

Tragically, no one from either party is objecting to the health provisions slipped in without discussion. These provisions reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, until recently the nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.

Senators should read these provisions and vote against them because they are dangerous to your health. (Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).

The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.

But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments (Read The Full Article)

Read the full article; rationing of health care is on the way if this passes.

Jag Of The Week

// February 8th, 2009 // 1 Comment » // Jag Of The Week

A couple of weeks ago I announced a new weekly feature called, “Winners and Losers Of The Week”. I have been racking my brilliant mind all week trying to come up with a better name for this new feature. I have a fondness for the word bastard, but felt it might be to offensive to some. When I moved to the Midwest I latched on to a new word. Jag. For those of you who don’t know what a Jag is, allow me to explain. According to Urban Dictionary a Jag is “an irritating individual with no sense of a social filter and no realization of the implication of his actions; socially inept.” What better way to describe many of the Jags who will be named Jag Of The Week.

Without further ado, I present to you the first ever Jag Of The Week. This week we have a three-way tie. And the Jags are…Arlen Specter, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe. These Jags have turned their back on America for political gain and for that they are the Jags Of The Week.

The Three Little GOP Pigs

// February 7th, 2009 // 1 Comment » // POLITICAL ARENA

Any Republican who has America’s best interest in mind has no business working with Democrats in getting this Obama Porkulus Scam passed. Sadly, the Democrats have found three sellouts amongst the Republicans. The three little GOP pigs are none other than, Arlen Specter of  Pennsylvania, Susan Collins of Maine and Olympia Snowe, also of Maine.

These RINOs should be thrown out of the party. I wonder how much money they were promised for their district by Reid. How much did it cost for Reid to buy their support? These three lowlifes have revealed that they do not serve the American people, but rather their self-interest. They have chosen political favor over the good of the country.

These three pigs are a disgrace! This bill does nothing to keep families in homes. It does not put money in our wallets via real tax cuts. It doesn’t create solid, long-term jobs. This only expands the size of government and keeps millions of Americans dependent upon Big Brother.

On a further note, Obama has already proven that he does not know how to lead. As he made his T.V. rounds this week he should have had a banner behind entitled, “The Obama Fear Mongering Tour.” He has acted irresponsible in his quest to get this socialist bill passed. And here’s a message to all the liberal bloggers and media snobs. THIS IS NOT A BIPARTISIAN BILL. I’ve already seen some headlines claiming that this is bipartisan. THREE GOP VOTES DOES NOT EQUAL BIPARTISIANSHIP. The Democrats own this bill, they just don’t want to go down alone.

House Republicans Say No To Pork Plan

// January 29th, 2009 // 2 Comments » // ECONOMY

For sometime I have been considering leaving the Republican party. As Obama mania grows throughout the country I have feared that the Republicans would continue to forsake conservative values and choose popularity over principle.

After hearing the news that not a single Republican voted for the Obama pork plan I have reconsidered leaving the party…for now. This was the right thing to do! This is no stimulus. The only thing it stimulates is the coffers of the democrat’s, lobbyists and special interests. This plan does nothing for you or me. It’s irresponsible and insulting.

I hope the GOP continues to do the right thing. While I am optimistic that they may have finally come to their senses, I will continue to watch their actions throughout Obama’s term.

Though Obama’s plan will ultimately get passed after a Senate vote, the finger cannot be pointed at the House Republicans when this thing fails.

Great Job House Republicans. I hope the GOP  Senate follows suit.

I Want America To Succeed; Not Obama

// January 26th, 2009 // 5 Comments » // POLITICAL ARENA

Unimpressed and  discouraged. That about sums up my feelings after witnessing the first few days of the Obama presidency. Before I explain why, allow me to first answer a question that has been appearing in my reader emails. The question is…you guessed it, “Don’t you want Obama to succeed?” This question has been used by many liberals in order to trip weak conservatives and republicans. Let me make this clear. I WANT AMERICA TO SUCCEED! If America’s future and success means that Obama must fail then so be it. If Obama is allowed to succeed in pushing his liberal agenda in key areas then America will fail. I’ve heard many so-called conservatives express their desire for Obama to succeed, yet Obama’s agenda is the opposite of their supposed beliefs. These weak-minded conservatives have no doubt given their principles up for popularity. They are eager to be accepted by the mainstream media and elite. As for this conservative, I care not if Obama succeeds or fails, but rather if America succeeds or fails. I do not believe our success is wrapped up in one man. Our success is in the hands of the people. Only we can save ourselves, not government. We the people with the help of God can do anything we set our minds to.

That said, you can understand why I am unimpressed and discouraged about the first few days of the Obama presidency. One of his first acts was to enact a pay freeze for senior White House staff. WHAT? They just started? Were they supposed to get a raise after their first day? Come on! How stupid does the administration think we are. This no doubt was a political stunt. I’m for pay freezes across the board for his administration, WHEN IT’S ACTUALLY TIME FOR A RAISE! If Obama really wants to make a statement he should enact a pay freeze or even a pay cut for all of Congress. Oh, I forgot, Congress already voted to give themselves a raise.

Here’s another good one. In an attempt to bring ethics back into government Obama barred officials of his administration from lobbying their former colleagues for the duration of his term. Obama barred former lobbyists from working for agencies they had lobbied within the past two years and required them to recuse themselves from issues they had handled during that time. I’m all for it. Too bad Obama isn’t even enforcing his own policy. William Lynn, who Obama named to become deputy defense secretary has become the exception to the rule. Lynn lobbied for Raytheon Co., a defense contractor, as recently as 2008. When asked about this breach of the new policy White House spokesman Robert Gibbs responded, “Even the toughest rules require reasonable exceptions.” In other words, business as usual. So much for “Change”.

I have never felt so discouraged about the future of America as I did when Obama announced that Guantanamo would be closed within one year. Was I discouraged because I think Gitmo should remain open? No doubt, however, what I found most discouraging was the fact that Obama made it known that he had no idea where to put these terrorists. During the signing ceremony Obama turned to White House Council, Greg Craig and asked if their was a seperate executive order as to how they are going to dispose of the detainees. The answer? We are setting up a process. First concern, Why is Obama signing an executive order if he doesn’t know what’s in it? He wouldn’t have asked the question if he knew what was in the order. Second concern, how do you anounce that you are closing Gitmo without first having a plan as to what you are doing with the terrorists. I prefer to call them terrorists as opposed to detainees. Very discouraging. Let’s just sign executive orders without thinking through the logistics of them. It’s bad enough that these terrorists are going to return to the battlefield so they can fight an administration that has a pre-9/11 mentality, but for the President to sign an executive order without first having a plan of execution. Unacceptable.

Obama also continues to push this huge economic “stimulus” plan. He plans to spend his way out of our current economic crisis. What amazes me is the seeming hypocritical situation Obama has put himself in. During the campaign he pledged to go through the budget line by line and cut programs that don’t work and get rid of wasteful spending. Why is this bill full of wasteful spending? Why don’t we cut taxes for not only all working American, but also businesses. Let’s put capital gains taxes on hold as well. Obama doesn’t have the answer. We will be living in an America like never before. Nationalized banks and health care to boot.

Obama ended the week showing his true colors when it comes to abortion. Obama restored US funding for family planning clinics abroad that give advice on or carry out abortions. That’s right. your tax dollars hard at work. Anyone who calls themselves a Christian should beg God for forgiveness if they voted for Obama.

This is only the beginning. Don’t send me emails saying, “Give Obama a chance.” I won’t sit here and keep my mouth shut in order to appease the liberals in America. If Obama does something right, I’ll take note, but when he is wrong I will take note as well.
