L.A. Times Refuses To Release Damaging Video Of Obama Praising PLO Activist Rashid Khalidi

// October 29th, 2008 // 1 Comment » // POLITICAL ARENA

Though the L.A. Times printed a story about a Obama attending a farewell party (Along with Bill Ayers) for Rashid Khalidi, PLO mouthpiece, in 2003 as he left for New York, the L.A. Times refuses to release the video claiming that it’s source asked them not to. (Good Excuse or should I say cover-up)

The L.A. Times piece noted that Obama

Reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi’s wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking.

Obama also said that his numerous talks with Khalidi were:

Consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. . . . It’s for that reason that I’m hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation — a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid’s dinner table,” but around “this entire world.”

This wasn’t just a farewell for Khalidi. It was also a hate meeting condemning Israel. Some of the highlights of the night included:

A Palestinian American recited a poem accusing the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians and sharply criticizing U.S. support of Israel. If Palestinians cannot secure their own land, she said, “then you will never see a day of peace.”

A speaker likened “Zionist settlers on the West Bank” to Osama bin Laden, saying both had been “blinded by ideology.”

Obama himself has said:

“Nobody’s suffering more than the Palestinian people.”

And if you think that’s the extent of this story think again. Obama has a Pro-Palestinian view of the Middle East. In 2000 as he sought a congressional seat Obama told Ali Abunimah, a Palestinian rights activist in Chicago who helps run Electronic Intifada, that he must be cautious when speaking about the Middle East. Abunimah quoted Obama as saying that he was sorry he wasn’t talking more about the Palestinian cause, but that his primary campaign had constrained what he could say.

As if these relations aren’t enough Obama, through the Woods Foundation, also gave $40,000 to an activist group headed by Khalidi.

Obama is bad news. He is not honest about his relationship with, Khalidi, Ayers, “Rev” Wright and god knows what else. The L.A. Times should do it’s job and release the tape.

Let the L.A. time know that you want them to release the tape:
